Carlos Rodriguez

 

Carlos Rodriguez serves as the Chief Policy Officer for the Building Industry Association of Southern California, a non-profit trade association of over 1,000 member companies employing over 100,000 professionals in the home building industry. Rodriguez is responsible for supervising the local, regional and state Government Affairs activities for the association’s service area including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties.

His diverse professional experience includes working as a senior executive at a statewide public relations firm, in Sacramento as a communications director for the California State Senate and adjunct faculty member at California State University, Fullerton. Rodriguez has also served as a key advisor on numerous political campaigns at the city, county, state and federal levels.

Rodriguez remains active in his community and was elected to the Yorba Linda City Council in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. He also serves on the South Coast Air Quality Management District Governing Board and Orange County Council of Governments Board of Directors and served on the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Transportation Committee.

He was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to the California Commission on Aging to help address housing, health care and other elderly quality of life issues. In recognition of his private sector leadership, the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognized Rodriguez as the “Corporate Advocate of the Year”.

Rodriguez graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Masters of Arts degree. He earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from California State University, San Bernardino.
